Adoptions

The Humane Society of Central Oregon adopts cats, dogs and other companion animals into loving homes.

Cats and Kittens: $30-$50
Adopt-a-Buddy two cats for one adoption fee (ask for details).

Dogs and Puppies: $65 base fee

Other Animals fees vary
Paws for Life Program: Adoption fees may be higher or lower for certain animals. This program helps save lives.

Adoption Care Package includes free health exam donated by local veterinarians, spay or neuter surgery, first vaccination, de-worming, microchip identification, collar, ID tag, a dog leash or cat carrier, training DVD, pet food and education packet. One month of pet health insurance for those providing an email address.

HSCO Shelter & Admin. Building on 27th St. in Bend

HSCO primarily serves the City of Bend, southern Deschutes County as well as surrounding counties.

HSCO Serves Companion Animals
and the Community:

Provides care for 4,000 lost, abandoned, neglected and abused companion animals each year.
Adopts companion animals into loving responsible homes.
Provides Lost and Found reporting program.
Dog Licensing and renewal site. County Cat ID tags available. Also at Redmond and Prineville shelter and county dog licensing on Wall Street.
Humane Education programs to schools, organizations and at community events.
Spay/Neuter Assistance Programs: SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program)
Volunteer Opportunities for adults, organizations, and community service youth programs.
Full service Private Cremation of companion animals.
Pet Visiting Program brings animals to Alzheimer’s and nursing home facilities.
Pet Food Assistance Program
Owner Requested Euthanasia
Community Service Programs for court mandated adult programs.
Shelter Tours & Presentations to interested individuals and groups.

County dog licensing and cat ID available at the Bend and Redmond shelters, as well as the county building on Wall Street.
