The Humane Society of Central Oregon completely relies on Volunteers. We are looking for positive and ready-to-learn youth and adult volunteers. You can download our Volunteer Form here. We are all here to make a difference with the animals and that can be done by socializing with a cat, walking a dog, organizing at the Thrift store, educating the public or fostering a kitten.

HSCO volunteers can choose which area best suits them; every piece of the program ultimately touches the lives of the animals. Click on your area of interest:

Thrift Store - The Humane Society of Central Oregon’s Thrift Store is always looking for hardworking and dedicated volunteers. We have many different opportunities at the thrift store that range from being a friendly face at our receiving door, to sorting donated items, to loading/unloading furniture.

All of the net revenue generated by our Thrift Store goes back to the animals we serve. Please feel free to contact the Thrift Store Manager or Volunteer Coordinator with any questions or interest.

Foster Care - Read opportunities here.

Ages 9-15 - The youth volunteer program provides youth ages 9 to 15 a long-term volunteer opportunity (at least 5 hours a month for 3 months). Youth volunteers are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times during all volunteer activities. Youth volunteers and their adult supervision must complete applications and go through an orientation. Once that has been completed you are able to volunteer during any of our business hours.

Ages 16+ - The Humane Society of Central Oregon is looking for positive, eager-to-learn and develop volunteers. The adult volunteer program provides adult volunteers ages 16+ a long-term volunteer opportunity (at least 5 hours a month for 3 months). Adult volunteers must complete a volunteer application and go through an orientation. Once the orientation has been completed you are able to volunteer during any of our business hours.

Groups - Groups that are interested in volunteering are allowed but limited to each specific situation. If you are interested in bringing in a group to volunteer please contact the Volunteer Coordinator by phone or email.
